About Thai A2
A2 is the elementary tier in CEFR. At A2 you can handle most everyday interactions — ordering food, asking for directions, booking a hotel, describing your job and your weekend — and you can express yourself in simple connected sentences. The words at A2 expand on the A1 foundation: common verbs, daily routines, clothing, transport, the home. A2 is the practical fluency tier: if you finish A2, you can survive comfortably in a Thai-speaking country.

How to study Thai A2
A2 takes about 6-8 weeks on top of A1. Continue spaced-repetition review of the A1 deck (your recall should now be automatic) and add 30-50 new A2 words per week. Start reading simple Thai texts — children's books, news headlines, restaurant menus — and listening to slow podcasts. By the end of A2 you should be able to follow a basic Thai conversation at natural speed.
Common questions about Thai A2
How do A1 and A2 Thai differ?
A1 is survival: fixed phrases for immediate needs. A2 adds the routines of daily life — shopping, travel, work, your background — so you start linking simple sentences instead of producing isolated words.
Is A2 vocabulary enough for a trip to a Thai-speaking country?
Yes, for most tourist situations: booking, transport, ordering, asking directions and small talk. Pair it with a little listening practice and you will comfortably navigate a week of travel.
